THE LADY ELIZABETH SCHOOL
This is an independent co-educational day school for pupils from3 - 18 years. Founded in 1987, the primary department is situated near the
centre of Javea and the secondary department in Lliber, approximately 35 minutes drive from Javea. The joint school roll as at September 2003 was some 695 pupils.
The school follows a traditional English education within the guidelines of the National Curriculum, leading to (I)GCSE and A Level qualifications. In addition to this the 3 required subjects of the Spanish National Curriculum (Castellano, Valenciano and Social Studies) plus German for first language speakers. The Lady Elizabeth School is a member of the National Association of British Schools in Spain.

CURRICULUM
Foundation
Stage (age 3-5)
Children
follow the Foundation Curriculum.
Infants
(age 5-7)

begin to study the English National Curriculum and Spanish language and
culture.
Juniors
(age 7-11)
Students
continue to follow the English National Curriculum and a full Spanish programme.
Students
follow a broad-based curriculum similar to the primary years, but are
taught entirely by specialist teachers.
Years
10 & 11
Students
follow a two-year course leading to the IGCSE examinations in 8 or more
subjects. These exams can be
fully convalidated with the Spanish certificate of completion of secondary
education (certificado ESO).
6th
Form
A
two-year course that leads to the externally marked Advanced (A) Level
Examinations.
The
college employs a professional team of fully qualified staff, including
native Spanish and German teachers.

Our
school year runs from September until June. The school day is from 8.50 until 4.10 (secondary) and 8.55 until
4pm (primary).
